News 1.3 : problems after upgrade

Hi there,

I have a problem after I upgraded from News 1.1 to 1.3
I wanted to backup the 1.1 version and just renamed the folder from news to news_bu, and then I copied the 1.3 folder to my server as news, and ran the upgrade script...

I don't know if what I did is OK or if I had to overwrite all the existing files.

Now I have some problems:

News Display Layout:
If I choose "By Topic" all news is showed correctly within it's topic
but with Php debug on:

When I choose "Classic" it doesn't show any news, only the page numbers are shown, and its doesn't give any php debug notices

And the latest news block won't show the teaser, only the title...
I've used the Spotlight module for some time now, and I'm having the same problem there, no teaser, only title. Although I'm running a second site on the same server, where the teaser works perfect in the Spotlight module.

Who knows what's wrong? I'm a php noob so keep those answers in simple human language plz

Hi Hervet
The "by topic/classic" problem is fixed!!
In the FAQ: 8.a solved my problem

But the recent news block issue isn't solved yet
It still doesn't show the teaser
