Re: Ahh! My site got OBLITERATED!! Need fix ASAP!!

Ugh... well, thanks for all your help, though! =)

I'm just gonna make a backup of the site, wipe the entire thing, then upload an older version of it that I have (that older version I am POSITIVE was working when I backed it up). If that dosen't work... then I think I have some server issues, or might finally have to admit defeat and find another portal system, since like I said - nothing but endless problems with XOOPS since day one. =(

Thanks again... I really do appriciate your time!!

Well, I am sorry I have run out of ideas. Maybe someone else has some other ideas.

PS. When this issue gets resolved please add it to the faq, so others will have an easier time finding the solution.

Good luck.

Just triple checked.. that directory is definitly 777, without a doubt, for sure, certainly, 777. =)

And sorry, it isn't an error at logon, it's an error whenever I make any changes in the admin screen. Lemme just copy/paste the whole thing... I'm noticing that now that I have turned on verbose PHP errors it is much longer:

Yeah, that is what I am seeing. I am assuming that you are the full webmaster, which is when that file is supposed to be created. Adminmenu.php that is.

Sorry to ask again but you need to triple check that folder for chmod 777. Very important for XOOPS to write to that folder.

You say you get an error at log on. What file is the error?

No need to apologise - I appriciate all the help! I've had nothing but problems with XOOPS since day one, only I'm too stubborn to give up on something! hehe So I really appriciate anyone who is willing the take the time to assist me.

Anyway, the cache directory is completly empty. To confirm, I have not touched this directory at all - this is probably the first time I have even FTP'd into it.
