Thanks I will have to check them out. Globat is horrible, even after you call them they give you a canned answer about technical problems everytime.

I am also going to check out lunar hosting (I think thats the company name)...any idea how they are?

I use, and have since 2000, American Hosting Although they do not support XOOPS directly, they have everything needed for a successful installation. cPanel accounts start at about $5.75 mo.

Never had a problem in four years.

i would recommend surpass hosting @ http://www.surpasshosting.com

they fully support xoops, and are very cheap. also extremely reliable.

you can also check out canaca too @ http://www.canaca.com

I use Globat for 3 sites one XOOPS at http://www.code33.com and I am always having server issues they are not 99.9% uptime and are extremeely slow. not sure if it the MySQL database connection.

I am going to switcht o a new host with cpanel and better service. Since I want to use the webmailfx module instead of hivemail. Anyone know of a comparable host?

Could it be that you live on the east coast, and the globat servers are located in Los Angelas? Tracing the route can tell you a lot about where you are hosting your website and how clients are actually recieving the data.
