There is a backup module just for XOOPS you can download from http://www.nagl.ch which I use. However, for most of my MySQL Admin work I use PHPMyAdmin. There is a XOOPS port of PHPMyAdmin, but the problem here is that if your whole site goes belly up, then it is going to be no use to you. For PHPMyAdmin to be of any REAL use to you I think you need to use the vanilla stand alone version which can be downloaded for free.

Hi Martle,

How I back up my XOOPS database is through Webmin which has a module
that performs this task automatically once you set it. Restoring is also pretty straight forward. I use it overall to manage my server together with vi. Of course this is assuming your using Linux.

There seems to be very good advice on backing up your database before installing a new module etc.

What is the simplest way of backing up and then restoring it as advised?

I can't seem to find this info anywhere
