Re:snx_weather... Does not work anymore?
by noisia on 2005/1/16 11:23:10

I have had SNX-weather on my site for the last few months, but suddenly since yesterday, the weather is no longer displayed.

If I click the forecast button, I get an empty window with the message:

le="color: #000000"><?php No result found !

I hope Snake will be able to make a legal version soon

I'm planning to have only a 2-days forecast (would like 5 but they stopped responding to my emails...), the 8 last days would be their logo linking to their website (8 backlinks !).

The best thing about Snx-weather was the fact that it has detailed information for every country in the world.

The problem with the local stuff is that it is just that. It has no detail on any place other than the country you're in.

Frankly I feel charging for something that can be obtained free sucks hole.

Mind you, how often is a weather forecast correct?

Still, I'm gonna take a hardline and continue using the Snx-Weather module. If I get in trouble then that's something I'll deal with then.

Does anyone know of a site as detailed as Weather.com that is free and available to everyone?

Hey Snakes... just a thought here. What are the chances of securing information from noaa.gov? This is a U.S. government resource with tons of current weather info. Since the information found there is publicly funded through taxation, I wonder whether it's restricted less by copyright laws.

For those in australia - I have just started using Weatherzone
http://www.weatherzone.com.au/index.jsp

You can have either (or both) a box displaying the latest details from one area, or a Search by Place name/post code.

For detailed weather you are redircted to their site.

I am only using the "search box" as it doesnt take to long to download and provides everyone flexibility. Much prefer the users to be redirected as the weatherzone site has far more detail and its not using my bandwidth.

cheers
Peter
