Modules New Contact Module

Hi all,

The German XOOPS Team released today a new/updated Contact module.

Resized Image

This module uses Bootstrap templates which makes it perfect for modern responsive websites.

Features:
- xBootstrap Templates
- Google Recaptcha (optional)
- easily included Google Maps

Please test the module and give us feedback so we can improve it.

Great job, Bleekk!

What's even more impressive, is the conversion of the Shield theme to XOOPS. It's AWESOME!!! We need a tutorial about how to do it!

Also, if this Contact module is forked or based on the standard Contact module that we have on GitHub, then it would be better to just fork it first from there and then add your changes, so it's easier to see what has changed, and it would also give us the option to have a "pull request" and update the original.

I will take this module as a new contact module because lot of things were changed.
The module is on github so there is no problem with collaborative work on it.

Then it would be the best to change the name of the module. Otherwise, if we have two different modules with the same name, it is too confusing.

Must be in installation package :)

I like DB stats in admin panel

You can think about other security method except google recaptcha too. I think its little heavy and most important that there is no option for other languages

And Mamba is right. The DB ID contact should be changed also

Maybe you could change to the German "Kontakt"

When people search for "xoops contact module" they will end up most probably with links to both, and it will be confusing.

Maybe you can call it "bleekkContact" or "bkContact" or something that will clear show that it is a new and different module.

I have made some minor changes to have the contact and the map in a cool white box
This is interesting when people have different background color than the standard white background in the bootstrap theme

looks like personal compliant :) but I must say it

Initially, everything was fine.. but from several days there is an sending error for this form and all other xoops form like "old contact" "xform" and "liaise"

I had error receiving message in mail.com and yandex.ru

error receiving message for mail.com and yandex.ru, both:

 SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: 
550 5.7.1 [BFD] Sender prohibited by SPF

When I ask for help my provider, they said:

 It appears that the script sending these messages is attempting to send with the blabla@mail.com email address from the BLA Hosting server. Because mail.com use SPF to verify their email servers, sending from non-authorized systems (anything not listed in mail.com's SPF record, such as your BLA server) attempts such as this will fail. Unfortunately we are not allowed to send mail on behalf of mail.com accounts, and any scripts sending mail from this site will need to be updated to use an email address at the domains hosted on your BLA Account when sending messages out.

I dont know whats happen, but all form stop working

Now im forced to use custom contact form like this:

blacksea.biz/contact

in all my xoops sites

I like very much new contact module mainly COS the messages are stored in our database. I saw (not ones) message in my database, which I never got in my e-mail (yandex.ru, mail.com)
I dont know whether to say "viva [size=xx-large]"[/size]free[size=xx-large]"[/size] net" but there is problem, definitely!

What do you think, is this xoops problem or my hosting provider or particularly my mail providers?

Other (not important of course) especially for this contact form. Blank page for older ver., like 2.5.0 or older. But anyway, this is not a real problem, cos we should update xoops

PS: How can I set new contact form to store message only in our database, without receiving to providers? (this is a good option for me also)

you have to solve this problem with your mail provider, it seems, that this is not a xoops problem.

brutalicuss what is you admin email?
is it one from your hosting?

If your webseite name is http://www.brutalicuss.com
is you mail then office@brutalicuss.com or do you use another mail as admin email?

But why spf method follow sender from custom contact form and prohibits these from xoops contact form. Strange. Other thing, it happens only from a week

@Bleekk, admin email is not related with domain name (in exml: any name@domain.com)
Admin email is this I register as admin user in xoops, but not related with the domain name (in exml: any name@mail.com and any name@yandex.ru)
And I use admin email for contact email form also.

Now (admin email is anyname @ domain.com) working for all forms, contact, liaise, xforms

Maybe I shud kick mail.com and yandex.ru..

You are welcome.
Some hostin provider have this security level so you have to use a sender email that is related to your domain name

This module is optimized to work only with bootstrap Themes.
Unfortunately I have no templates for the standard xoops themes.
