I am working on a XOOPS 2.0.16 theme that is wire-frame based, css 2.1 compliant and uses opacity to allow items to look translucent.

I want to make the final product available to the XOOPS community but before I do so I would like ideas and comments from you regarding problems or features you might want in the base theme.

I'd like to know your concept of a wireframe and what a XOOPS theme wire frame should contain, I've seen this word a lot lately, and have always seen it as the initial architecture of a design without any graphical details or effects to it.

A wireframe theme is an interesting and very needed tool for the community and what I've always thought in the making of the XOOPS basic theme template.

I'm going to assume though that it is not 2.2.x compliant. I completely understand that 2.2.x is a "dead branch", but is the 2.0.16 component really that different from 2.2.x version that 2.0.13 themes cannot be adapted? I have far too much "tweak time" put into my 2.2.x sites to easily roll to a different version.

But hey, either way, nice job

I haven't presented any problems with the 2.x themes in 2.2 ,,,they display in the frontend just the same, only some functions don't work the same for the backend...couldn't quite explain cause I never studied making themes for 2.2

Just one thing can make them break and that is the new code being applied:

xoImgUrl and xoAppUrl

if they are present within the theme it could be they might not display fully correct in a 2.2, but downgrading that you just replace it for xoops_imageurl and and xoops_url

A quick view on what wireframe is...

As I have it implemented it means the following:
1. no use of tables in the html or css
2. browser window size is easily scalable (drag your window left or right to see this). Generally you can go infinitely wide and I have placed key limits on narrow widths- in the body.

As for the theme, it is designed for use in 2.0.15&16. I have not tested it on any 2.2 variant.

In the next few days I'll place a demo version of the Community version of the theme. Watch this space!

Also please let me know if there are additional functions you might like to see. I'll add those that make sense AND fit within my limited skills.

When I go to 'FAQ' or 'example products' the background remains green on some parts of the screen, untill I scroll down or up a few times.
I hope it is clear to you what I mean.

I use Maxthon browser (IE7 engine)

Hi svaha,

Thank you for the bug identification. I am unable to see or create the FAQ issue(since that occurs within a module SmartFAQ, perhaps there's something going on in that module that conflicts with the css .content back-ground command. I don't really know.

As for the Example Product problem that had to do with my image being placed improperly (too large for its place). I think that's fixed.

Thank you Mark for moving XOOPS closer to a stylish theme that is CSS complaint. The transparency is a nice touch that adds interest to the theme.

I found the pages to load very fast and render well. Thanks for progressing this concept.
