Hi everyone,

For various reasons (not related to xoops!) I've been out of the loop and need to get back in.

I'm currently running xoops 2.4.5 and am looking to upgrade to 2.5.0 during the coming week or so. However, I'm conscious that some of the modules i'm using aren't the latest and may not work with 2.5.0

Please can you good folks tell me what are the latest versions of the following modules and from where to download them if they are not in the module repository?

News 1.62 (from InstantZero)
XoopsPoll 1.2
WF-Links 1.03

I'm looking to move from Liaise 1.26 to a module that is being maintained. I've read about xForms 1.2 but can't find a download.

Basically, I'm looking for alternative modules that will work beyond xoops 2.5.0, i.e. with the new xoops engine.

Also, I use SmartSection 2.13 as I like it and it works well with Xoops 2.4.5. Is there a good alternative that will allow uploaded files to be associated with a page?

Hi,

Those links are probably hard-coded into the theme's "theme.html" file.

You can edit them manually off-line then upload the edited file to replace the original.

You will need to go into Admin>Preferences>General Settings and set "Check for changes to templates" to "Yes" get the change to "take" on your site.

Switch the setting back to "No" when finished.

Try this:

Very helpful tool (the page, mean...... not me!)

........ or switch the host.

Hosting switched (after other issues finally made me kick them into touch!)

Now on:

XOOPS Version XOOPS 2.4.5
PHP Version 5.2.16
mySQL Version 5.1.54-log

Which means:

1. I'm definitely back alive on here
2. I can upgrade to 2.5.0
3. Contribute again (but only from home these days )

Happy bunny

figured it out, thanks for the help, site is back to looking somewhat normal again. :)

Can you remember what you did? I've just upgraded to 2.4.5 from 2.4.3 (via 2.4.4) and my my main menu is similarly stuffed. Was okay before the upgrade and I've not changed anything in the theme's .css

Current code:

td#mainmenu a {

displayblock;

margin3px;

padding3px;

border-left4px solid #999;

border-bottom1px solid #999;

backgroundurl(images/go.gifno-repeat right;
}
td#mainmenu a:hover {

border-left4px solid #FF9900;

border-bottom1px solid #FF9900;

colorinherit;

background-color#1E1E1E;
}
td#mainmenu a.menuSub {

margin3px 3px 3px 12px;
}
td#usermenu a {

displayblock;

margin3px;

padding3px;

border-left4px solid #999;

border-bottom1px solid #999;

backgroundurl(images/go.gifno-repeat right;

}
td#usermenu a:hover {

border-left4px solid #FF9900;

border-bottom1px solid #FF9900;

colorinherit;

background-color#1E1E1E;
}
td#usermenu a.highlight {

background#f90;
}

Many thanks

MySQL
Client API version 5.0.45

Is this okay? Different to what is reported by the host's Control Panel

TIA

Thanks Michael - will donate next time I have my wallet at desk (prob tomorrow!)

I've asked the question of my hosting company and will wait for their reply before upgrading - there's conflicting info depending upon what I read. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to test with MySQL4+ - might be okay

I'm on PHP 5.2+ so no issues there.

Hiya Michael - knew you'd be first to reply

Yes, I'm back and will try to be as helpful as before but there's some catching up to do otherwise I'll lead others astray!

Happy to moderate but I won't have the time that I used to - logging in when I should be at work if much more difficult than it used to be. Happy to do what I can otherwise if that's okay?

I certainly won't be offended if you redesignate me

Can't believe that my poxy hosts are still on MySQL 4+...... just asking the question now before I take my custom elsewhere

Hope you are well? I'll be clicking the "Donate" button shortly

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I've been here. Things have moved on a lot in 6 months

Anyone installed/upgraded to 2.5.0 on a server running MySQL 4?

I want to upgrade (of course I do!) but want to know what wouldn't work/what I'd miss out on if I did. Would I still have a working site?

I'm still on xoops 2.4.3 but have the packages to get to 2.4.4 and 2.4.5, so assume an upgrade from 2.4.5

All advice gratefully received.

Mamba, if you read this.... Hello I see I still have to the rank of "moderator" You might want to review this

Regards to all

IIRC, SmartSection 2.14 (and presumably 2.15?) require the SmartObjects framework to be installed too. Have you installed this?
