New Zoops Bibles Beta testers!

Introducing the Zoops Bibles projects, this is 2 Bibles projects in one, both of the newest versions of PHPscriptures by Alex markley and PHPBible by Danny calton.
Inserted into Xoops, now on my site these both work fine and look good, yet I have different setting and somewhere, something isn’t letting it work on all servers.
So I would like to take this project and make it to something really special for Xoops, yet I am by no means an experienced PHP programmer (yet a very fast learner) and need help, from some people who understand what they are doing to begin with.
I am a graphic dezigner and need people who are interested in testing and further development of one of the best Bible systems fast and effective with full wild card lexicon search 2 lexicons, blank page scripture printing and much more… most of that is done, now just to make it work with all Xoops Churches and this needs you.
You can have a look at the project development here and a working version on my site
ZScriptures
ZBible
Also another added feature in Zbible is an Admin system to change CSS, links for the whole site by a selection system.

xAsset - 0.89 Release

Panther Software Publishing is pleased to announce the release of xAsset 0.89.

Please read the release notes here.

Please download you copy from the xAsset project page here.

What is xAsset?

Xasset is a Xoops module designed for digital media sales and distribution. Initially this was designed for shareware authors but the module architecture has been extended to selling and distributing any digital asset such as MP3 files, EXE files or PDF documents. Anything that can be downloaded can be managed from xAsset.

xAsset also enables selling group membership, ideal for selling subscriptions to premium online content. Members can be viewed along side their membership expiry details. Group membership has more features in the pipeline.

Main xAsset features include:

1.Payment Gateway integration via a plugin architecture. The Paypal payment gateway module is provided by default. Other payment modules can easily be developed. Please contact us for details and pricing.

2.Secure your digital assets by placing them outside the public_html folder thus preventing any direct link exploits. Xasset offers a sophisticated download control mechanism that allows you to specify how many times a file can be downloaded and until when. All downloads are logged against IP address which makes it possible to track users who are sharing their login details.

3.Users cannot download files unless logged into your site thus eliminating more direct linking exploits.

4.Products that can be sold via xasset include digital media (files), services and group membership. Xasset provides an automatic mechanism of adding the client to any Xoops user group, giving you an easy way to control premium membership access for example.

New Midnite Anime Theme

I've just finished converting another layout from Midnite, this one is called Animal Love. The theme places right blocks underneath left blocks because of the width of the theme.

XOOPS 2006/05/23 security patch released

The 2006/05/23 security patch has been released to fix the security issue disclosed as Secunia Advisory 20176.

Please note that this issue only concerns servers configured with register_globals set to on, which is not recommended.

But we recommend that every XOOPS 2.X user apply it, especially those who are forced to use a 2.0.x version older than 2.0.13.2, since the additional protection it contains may protect you from other issues known to these old versions.

XOOPS Documentation site opens!

Yes that's right, XOOPS documentation has a new home: http://xoopsdocs.net

At the XOOPS Docs site you will find released documents and documentation in various stages of development. There are 3 main areas:
1. Released documents
2. Workspace for docs in progress (including translations in progress)
3. Discussion area (docs-related discussions only)

The Workspace has two extra areas for an ongoing documenting goal - to document details of all released Modules and Translations, and to keep these details current!

A lot of work has been done to get the site to this stage, but there's plenty more to do. If you've always wanted to contribute to XOOPS in some way, but weren't sure how... here's your chance! XOOPS Documentation needs you!

To find out how you can help just visit the XOOPS Documentation site

My 1st site in CSS/XHTML: An experiment explained in detail

Resized ImageBefore to present in detail my new theme, (i would say my first experience in full CSS/XHTML and without table, let me tell you how was the steps to arrive in this final result ans before that, a quickly recall on my sites.

The original news is in french langage here

Synopsis:
0) Introduction
1) Starting theme - Idea
2) False columns
3) Mainly "div"
4) Mitres, part 1: Rounded without image
5) Mitres, part 2: How to color the active mitre
6) W3C validation
7) Downloading the theme

0) Introduction

After my first web site, (intranet), my first project with XOOPS (not visible), (2003, June, I think), i used to enjoy to work on projects via this fantastic CMS et this fantatic communauty ("inégalable et inégalée").

My first public site was
theLigue Rhône-Alpes de volleyball, and i worked on the theme (Read french news).

This theme is avalaible in download section here.

I continude 2 sites "vitrine" in multilangage french / english. Theses sites don"t appear as XOOPS sites but..., click on bottom "login", you will find lements that you know!

These sites are Laboratoire de Dynamique des Machines et des Structures (Read french news) and a specific software namedROTORINSA.

Resized ImageThen, i realized the whole updating of (core, modules and theme) the nice site of the asocation's conservation of the Asian elephant, Elefantasia, managed by Gilles.

For my new last site, after reading the Christian's News Xoopsing a xhtml/css template in 10mn, i'm said myself : Why not me ?
So, I have try it, just a challenge, not really need for my new site, just a challenge!
[pagebreak]
First at all, i spend just 14 days ans 10 mn, so, just 14 days more than Christian !

I was inspired with these sites:
- Pompage.net
- Alsacréation and here
- peutetreunereponse.net

My objective was (without objet ive fir the site, just theme onjective):
- Create an origianl theme,
- Just use CSS/XHTML
- Tableness (without table)
- W3C validation
- Use nice mitres
- Rounded mitres
- Colorisation of active mitre

Resized Image1) Starting theme - Idea

I really appreciate the theme presented here and available here.

So, i started on the idea of a blocnote theme, with 2 colomn, without right colomn.

2) False columns

Read this news: colonnes factices.
This method is so fun for my theme.

3) Mainly "div"

<div id="conteneur">
     <
div id="navigation">

// mitres location for external links

div>

     <
div id="navigation2">

// mitres location for internal links

div>

     <
div id="logo">

// here logo url

div>

     <
div id="gauche">

// Boucle left blocs

div>

     <
div id="centre_gd">
          <
div id="centre_gauche">

// Boucle blocs center left

div>
          <
div id="centre_droite">

// Boucle blocs center right

div>
     div>

     <
div id="centre">

// Boucle blocs center center

<div id="content">Display the module contentsdiv>
     div>

     <
div id="blocnote_bottom">

// bottom of the page

div>
div>

[pagebreak]
4) Mitres, part 1: Rounded without image

A method exists to use mitres:portes coulissantes, but i used another one, but this one (Example 2, Horizontal).

It's a fantastic cheat ("Astuce"). With this, you can create a lot mitres without images. when you have understand the method, (css method), il is easy to create mitres with a lot of combinaisons :
- color,
- size (width) (small, normal and large mitres)
- dark mitres or not

I will try to explain to you:
<div id="navigation">
    <
ul>
        <
li>
            <
class="menumini" href="http://monsite.fr/lien1.html" title="Mon lien 1">
                 <
class="BoxOnglet"><span class="BoxContenu couleur4">Lien 1span><class="b4 couleur4">b><class="b3 couleur4">b><class="b2 couleur4">b>b>
            a>
        li>
    ul>
div>

With this css lines (read the comments):
// localsation of mitres on the page
#navigation {

padding-left300px;

backgroundtransparent no-repeat;

margin0px;

5) Mitres, part 2: How to color the active mitre

Ok, now, we have nice mitres, but i would have red color when mitres is active.

For modules:
<{if $xoops_dirname == 'wordpress'}>

<{if $xoops_dirname == 'xhld0'}>

For a mitres on a file:

Home page
<{if $SCRIPT_NAME == "/index.php"}>

Login/inscription
<{if ($xoops_requesturi|truncate:24:"":true) == "/user.php?xoops_redirect"}>

Why ?
Cause it's possible to have a redirection on this page.

At last, i put a test to replace "login/inscription" by "My accounting" when the member is connected.
<{if $xoops_isuser}>
// Onglet "My accounting"
<{else}>
// Onglet "login/inscription"
<{/if}>

New theme - stardust

Bassman Themes have released a new theme for Xoops 2.0X - stardust theme.

This theme is based on a layout designed by the talented designer Midnite and features an anime-style background.

Some compromises had to be made to fit the Xoops framework into the layout. The right column is alongside the left, and appears even if there are no right blocks selected. Also, any center column module content over 400px wide will scroll sideways to fit. I think it's worth it as the actual design is fairly unique.
