I have been building a new website called Operating System News .com
Operating System News .com is focused on exploring everything about Operating Systems be it PC, Mac or in beded devices. We also hope to expose many Open Source Application, & Information Technology - what ever it's platform.
The site serves to provide a community portal for existing Microsoft Windows users, new and experienced Linux users, Apple Mac users, and all other types of Operating Systems, to a place for people to share ideas, information, news, screenshots, and much more...
The site will become what the users want it to become, so tell us what you think and what you want is what this site will become.
Users can register their nicknames in order to submit News, participate in Forums and contribute any type of content.
Your knowledge may be some one else's source, and hence the cyle continues.

I started a poll/inquiry with some questions which should be interesting especially for potential new xoops users or for those who just began to use XOOPS. But it will give us all some more information about those who use XOOPS for a while. It would be very kind of you to take some minutes and answer each poll question, or those you want!

Release of SmartSection 2.12 RC 1 !
The SmartFactory is very proud to release the new version of its articles management module SmartSection 2.1 RC 1 ! What's new in version 2.12 RC 1? Since release of 2.1 RC 2, many bugs have been fixed, mostly regarding XOOPS 2.0.14, 2.0.15 and 2.2.x, as well as regarding MySQL 5.x. You will be happy to know that SmartSection now fully works with all versions of XOOPS (2.0.x and 2.2.x). The new upgrade procedure of the SmartModules has been implemented in SmartSection. You don't need to "Check tables" after updating the module. Everything is done automatically when the module is updated.

MyWebResource Webmaster Resource TopSites
TopSite directories are nothing new. In fact, there are tons of them. However, there are several factors that have frustrated the heck out of me with most of them. First of all, most of the TopSites that relate to the Webmaster niche are hosted on very slow servers and are hosted on limited shared accounts that often run out of bandwidth in a short amount of time. Secondly, most of the sites that fit the Webmaster niche are either offer too few categories to make searching them useful, or they cover such a generic range of topics that the sites listed in them represent a hodge-podge of all things related to the 'net. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, most of the TopSites I've seen in the webmaster niche have a relatively small user-base. This equates to just a handful of people seeing your site in their directory each day. What good does that do you?
