CBB 4.0 Alpha Release
The CBB Team is pleased to announce the release of CBB 4.0 alpha.
This release has been mainly focused on code refactoring and performance improvement.
The CBB module, whose dirname is "newbb", is the forum module for The XOOPS CMS.
It has been designed and developed upon the combination of features, flexibity, permission control and performance for high traffic volume.

What have been changed since 3.08:
1. Code refactored
2. Added forum-specific topic type
3. Implemented tag functionality
4. Formulated transfer toolkits to use "Frameworks/transfer"
5. Added CAPTCHA for anonymous posting
6. Improved stats, synchronization
7. Redesigned handlers for images, templates, css etc.
8. Improved administration mode
9. Implemented unlimited level of sub forums
10. Improved Reported posts Administration
Known issues:
1. Template redesign is not completed

Sliceofmymind.com Opinionated Content Site
Hello all,
I just recently opened a website powered by Xoops 2.0.17.1. It is called Slice of My Mind (http://www.sliceofmymind.com).
Sliceofmymind.com (SOMM) is a new age site for mature people 17+ to post their opinions on the issues and topics that affects them. Featuring blogs, news, forums, chat and more.
We are currently looking for new content providers as well as experienced XOOPS developers that know how to develop or modify modules that will fit within our scheme of delivering thought-provoking yet humorous content.
When I was in the concept stages of the SOMM site and as a long time user of the XOOPS CMS system, I knew XOOPS would be the engine that would run the site. The problem is I need developers familiar with this system in order to develop some of the ideas I have into featured rich modules that I will gladly share with the Xoops community.

This is the first version released for makepayment for xoops for handling a payment via the credit cards available with Intabill, you will need to fill out the merchant application contract forms, scan them and email them back to me for me to set up a merchant account with intabill for you. My rates start at 3.5% upto around 10% for adult services like escorting.
This module utilizes a GPL Soap class library called nuSoap to do the echeck or credit card transactions; with an intabill merchant account you have your own test credit and echeck numbers. We will be writing the refund module for xoops soon, but for the moment this can be handled through the intabill terminal.
If you want to contact intabill directly, you will need to quote my author name for speedy result as it is listed as a reseller there, intabill details are found at http://www.intabill.com an email for the implementation officer there is Matt Maxwell [matt@intabill.com].

City Council Campaign
I built a simple city council campaign website for a friend using XOOPS 2.0.17.1. I will likely be building more, but only time will tell on this relationship. They are happy with the site and the ease with which they can update it.

This module features a simple Social Network for your xoops site.
Very recommended for comunities sites. It allows users to have a personal album of pictures, a personal album of videos from youtube, a list of friends, a public wall for messages(scraps) ,to create communities (tribes), to adjust configs to set who can see what, it also allows admins to block users from using the site for a certain amount of time.
The use of the module is very simple and the front end is clean and beatifull thanks to the lightbox2 feature and to jquery tabs.
