Welcome to the March 2009 issue of WOX (World of XOOPS) Newsletter (see here previous versions)
As first thing in this newsletter we wanted to express our gratitude to all of who have donated money to XOOPS Foundation! The response was wonderful, and we truly appreciate your trust and support! As promised, our 2008 Financial Report has been published, so you can see what is our financial situation, and what we are spending our money on.
Other highlights of the month:
- XOOPS Innovation Award - for people who create something very unique and innovative for XOOPS. This time the award goes to Alain Breuer (Lord_Venom) from XOOPS France for his work on Mp Manager 2.7 and for the second time to Simon Roberts (Wishcraft), this time for his work on Multixoops and X-Invites 1.06
- XOOPSer of the Month Award: is given to XOOPS members who show extraordinary dedication to XOOPS, and go the extra mile for XOOPS. This month, we would like to recognize Crip Moorey (Sailjapan) for his help in moderation of XOOPS forums and support of XOOPS users.
- XOOPS 2.3.3rc has been released for testing.
- More Translations are available

- Easily editable CSS
Software required for editing: notepad or any HTML Editor , Photoshop. Included are PSD, Fonts and the theme.
As always the theme is available in english and arabic.

Google Pagerank Checker
A new cool module for showing Google Pagerank for any website.
-The module comes with a block to show your visitors the way, and you can easily create a custom block from the code provided.
-Generation of HTML-code so you can offer your visitors a chance to create a nice PageRank button for their own site.
-Generation of screenshot for each site searched.

Ol�drion 2.2, the e-Commerce module for Xoops by Instant Zero
Our good friends at Instant-Zero announced a new version of their e-Commerce module - Olédrion 2.2 (read here)

- Code refactoring
- Bugs corrections in the checkout page
- New option in config.php: OLEDRION_DONT_RESIZE_IF_SMALLER, when this option is on "true", if pictures are smaller than defined dimensions, then they are not resized
- Addition of a new option in config.php => OLEDRION_AUTO_FILL_MANUAL_DATE
When this option is set to true, the module will automatically fill the manual date when you create a new product
- Bugs correction in the advanced search and addition of a pager
- Better support of Xoops 2.3
- Change in the gateways class and structure
- In the module's administration, manufacturer's names are now clickable
- In the module's administration, the count of products is now visible
- When you add a product, in the module's administration, the module shows you an example for the "Path of the file to download" field
- Correction of several bugs with the Paypal gateway and orders records on some hosts (burning/herve)
- Bug correction in the shelf class (Bezoops/Herv�)
- There were 2 minor changes in the translations, see lang.diff

We would like to encourage all XOOPS developers to participate in the "Change the Web Challenge"
Social Actions' Change the Web Challenge is about building innovative tools to help people find and share opportunities to take action on the websites, blogs, and social networks that we all visit everyday.
This sounds like a good opportunity for a XOOPS Module
Check out the Developer Resources for their Social Actions API that you could use.
The Grand Prize is $5,000 with total of $10,000 in cash prizes, but the real prize is the impact your module might have an changing the world.
The submission deadline is Fri, April 3, 2009
