Welcome to the our last issue of WOX (World of XOOPS) Newsletter in 2009 - the December issue (see here previous versions) 

As always, as the first thing in each newsletter we wanted to express our gratitude to all of you who have donated money to XOOPS Foundation! We truly appreciate your trust and support! 

In October our most important event was the release of XOOPS 2.4.0. Also Wishcraft is back with several new and updated modules.

Highlights of the last month:

  • XOOPS 2.4.2 FINAL Is Released
     
  • XOOPS Website is going live with XOOPS 2.4.2
     
  • XOOPS Innovation Award - for people who create something very unique and innovative for XOOPS. This time the award goes to Dylian Melgert  (Dylian) from Netherlands for his innovative work on xoBile (XOOPS Mobile) . Dylian, who is 15 years old, is the youngest ever recipient of XOOPS Innovation Award!!!!
     
  • XOOPSer of the Month Award:  is given to XOOPS members who show extraordinary dedication to XOOPS, and go the extra mile for XOOPS. This month, we we'll have a first time ever a team award, and it will go to members of the Leonardo Lino Kaotik from Portugal for their continues work on Tutorials for XOOPS Users, especially his jQuery Tutorial series (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

xoBile (XOOPS Mobile) [v1.1 RTU]

This module allows you to show your XOOPS website on a mobile phone. (If there are plugins available for the modules you use)

Version: 1.1 [RTU] (RTU = Ready To Use)
Release: 27-11-2009

New in this version:
1. Added the articles plugin made by LadyHacker.
2. Added XOOPS Code replacing.
3. Added the posibility to style xoBile (For xhtml compatible phones).

Requirements:
- XOOPS 2.4*
- PHP 5 *

Installation:
- You can simply install this module as a standard XOOPS module.

Upgrade from xoBile v0.9x:
1. Uninstall the old fresh from the module through XOOPS Administration;
2. Remove the old version of the module of the server (eg via FTP);
3. Upload the latest version of the module;
4. Install the new version of the module through XOOPS administration.

Upgrade from xoBile v1.0:
1. Overwrite all the old files with the new one;
2. Update the module in the XOOPS module administration.
