I'm pleased to announce the release of zenTrackXoops 2.3.1 HelpDesk Solution for small and mid-sized entreprises.

zenTrack is a very successful and high quality HelpDesk sever application, it is now modulized into the nice looking and easy to use Xoops Portal System. (X2)

Installed it, but it wom't give me access to admin, despite the fact that I followed all of the instructions (including creating the zenTrack group, etc.).

Actually, the XOOPS user having id number = 1 is granted as the defaut superuser,(this is generally the case from the XOOPS point of view )

So try to login in with that user account or manually change your id number in the xoops_user database (not recommended), I should find a solution to provide a more easy default admin account for the next release.

if you were like me..hehe..check your php.ini make sure register_globals is on. that should allow it to fire right up..8)

I have downloaded it today, unpacked it and then gone to my XOOPS Admin\Modules. There is no icon graphic, and it only seems to partially install. When I then look at the installed modules there is no version number, no icon, and no icon in my left hand pane.

I read the INSTALL file and the three files mentioned are not there - they were not in the package. Is the package available on this site somewhere? I went to the downloads area under XOOPS 2 Modules and it isn't there. Can anyone help with this?

Hi tedsmith,

Installed perfectly from what I can see is operational on my dev site you have the URL. I D/L the file from guanxiCRM.com a few minutes ago. The archive is complete with all files.

What I may have done differently is to set permissions on:

/includes/cache
/includes/attachments
/include/logs

before I use XOOPS Admin to install module this might make a difference with some modules especially those which use a cache of some sort or ight need to write to a log file.

I also use Dreamweaver MX on my Mac OS X box. When I edit templates I use XOOPS template editor/viewer just to open copy out, then paste back in and then save my changes.

I copy any individual template from a cloned template set to my local box and paste into DW or bbedit (a text editor). Dreamweaver's used to visually edit and BBedit for major search and replace. So I never pull a template from a directory via FTP then edit and reload. I do it using XOOPS to open, copy, then paste back in and save through XOOPS Template Manager. Any of my template edits are always saved and immediately viewable. I've never had to change permissions on a template set on the remote ISP server or here locally on my OS X server.

To upload files I use a product for OS X called Transmit. I've never trusted uploads to DW (been using it since beta .08 (just like GoLive) and prefer a dedicated FTP piece for that task.

Sometimes when a module does not install right off. I simply reload the entire module via FTP. Allot of times, depending on module size, the files stall going up, and when it stalls I usually just reload the module a second time. I watch for this with modules like zentrak that are big to begin with (3MB). If your client stalls out while uploading that could corrupt one of the files even just a single line of code or character something you don't notice until later on when you try to use or install the product.

Ted,

If you check out the mod version file you'll notice that it calls the dir zentrack.

Make sure your folder in modules is named "zentrack" and not "zentrackxoops_2.3.2".

Changing the name to zentrack has worked a treat. Thanks guys. Trouble now is it says I have to turn register_globals to on. I've read this posthttps://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=10560&forum=4#forumpost42004. I am not the server admin, but we are an organisational Intranet so I am sure it can be turned on easily enough. Are there any drawback to doing this? How is it done (I doubt my server admin will know off the cuff and it will save time if I can tell him). Is it one of those settings in the php.ini file?
