It wonderful to hear from the Devs every now and then about the project... it really gives a sense of liveliness and activity about the project. (afterall, rarely does anybody track activity/changes in the cvs, so a periodic update from somebdy in the team is such a welcome thing for us, end users! Kudos!
I really appreciate the 'super module' concept... that should really tidy up the whole XOOPS site and catagories things once and for all. The visitors will need to navigate lesser to dig and find things. Good Job Guys. Can't wait to greet the big day of Version 1... yeah, btw, will we be hosting an online celebration?
Devs, one small request: Lets open a Chat room on Undernet or Dalnet for Xoops: It can serve as live support for and by users for trivial and small questions/answers. It will also help forge the community stonger I believe. Maybe we can host the release of ver.1 live on the channel... all of us users and devs together... :) Atleast it will be a place to hang around when we are bored and wd like to chat up a bit.

Re: XOOPS Version 1 RoadmapI agree, this is really great! Thank you for putting together the roadmap. I'm also wondering about the flexibility of the section super module, and would really like to see the type of think MaxIT is asking about.
Also, I would just like to "throw in my two cents," as we say here, regarding the section super module from a more traditional (not web hosting, internet publishing, or related endeavor) business perspective:
1. Please make rating, uploading, commenting, and xmlrpc features optional! They make sense for some organizations but they are definately not for everybody.
2. Please allow for the specification of specific cache directories. Most companies will have somthing like an "about us" section with a brief intorduction and links to company history, job listings, etc. Companies almost always put these pages in a http://www.sitename.com/about directory. This is important because you want a constant place that may be linked to search engines.

Also, we plan to add a dynamic fields feature so that admins can add any number of custom fields as they like. The field(s) can take form of either a text input field, textarea, selection box, checkbox, radio buttons, url, email, etc. The value of the field can then be displayed by adding a tag that is associated with that field. This feature is planned in the final version, though..not in the initial release of this module.
