This module has been developed for two clients. For now, this module has been designed to sell Books, but Instant-Zero has tailored it so it can be easily personalized, renamed and modified for others usages, like the selling of other Goods & Services .

Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
Looks like a great module...good work!
I want to inform my clients that they have this option for their sites...how much does it cost? (just the base module, no customization)
Thanks,
jeffgr

Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
YES!! This is perfect. I will send you a note to find out how to get this. This is exactly what I needed. I was going to set up the osCommerce module and was dreading it. Just in time! Thank you.
Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
Thanks for the demo. In the description it says Commercial XOOPS module........what sort of price tag are we talking here????
Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
This looks very nice! I am also curious what the cost of the module is and also what payment and shipping modules are available.
IE: Paypal, Verisign Payflow link/pro, Authorize.net. Bluepay, etc.
USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.
Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
Thanks-you all at Instant-Zero for bringing some light to XOOPS this day!
This is a fabulous module and beautifully crafted. To see a commercial XOOPS module of this genre is a real step forward.
Congratulations to Herve, Xoopsdesign and all the team who have worked so hard to perfect this release.

Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
thank you for your encouragements
price : very affordable, contact us with this form.
shipping : acutally there's nothing to manage the shipping methods but if you need it, we can evaluate its cost and develop it
payment : the payment methods can be changed but it requires a specific development wich is linked to an evaluation
Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
this is very good module. could it be an education edition for this module? as a university student, i like to use XOOPS with this module compared using osCommerce, ZenCart etc. I hope it can be reality...

This could be bringing even more light if it was released under a non-commercial license Traditionally, 99% of contributed modules have been released under GPL or similar license and that was one of the things that set XOOPS apart from other CMS's. This was also one of the things that made me choose XOOPS against hundreds of valid competitors. Now i see the things are changing and i'm honestly very disappointed by this. Just my 2 cents, ralf

I honestly understand your point of view, although I don't share it.
This module is strictly for commercial purposes. Period.

Hi Ralf
You need to re-read the GPL, free software is free and in "free speech" not as in "free beer".
This is a tricky subject and often attracts some criticism. Here's the thing: the majority of modules that have been sold as opposed to given freeware are those that are designed for commercial use. That is. They will make you money when you use them. Many developers feel that it is appropriate to 'ask' for a fee for something that is designed to bring you income. It's their personal choice, but it has a certain merit and logic to it.
In addition Bookshop is not released as a beta module. It's been fully tested and debugged, plus my guess is that considerable time and money has been invested into it to make it ready to go out-of-the-box.
Bookshop is a quality module with great features. Plus jdseymour is correct, there is no GLP infringement here.
Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
@jdseymour and carnuke
I'm afraid you didn't get my point, but maybe i didn't explain myself clear. I'm neither referring to any GPL infringment (who said this?) nor to the freedom and opportunity for Bookshop's developers to sell their module. From my point of view i feel that spottlighted news item in Xoops.org's homepage more like an advertising than an annoucement to the community. That's all.
Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
Sorry for the misunderstanding ralf57.
My feelings on this is if we do not support some commercial XOOPS ventures, they will eventually disappear with quality advance features.
But I do understand your point of view.
Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
This really does look like a great module and I expect many people will benefit (financially and otherwise) froma module like this in their XOOPS sites. Well done. I really like the graphics - very swish and professional looking. It's modules like these that give XOOPS a bit of an edge.
Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
Considering the support and the involvement of both Instant Zero and XoopsDesign.com are constantly showing to the XOOPS community, as far as i know/care they can even post the sell of a car (not that they will actualy do it ), given the fact the number of themed sites by xoopsdesign or modules that are installed in a large number of other, or just by looking in forums to the support showed here by them, not to mention that we are reading this article because of herve's news module , also lets not forget that XOOPS has the biggest directory of free themes and free modules from any other CMS's out there so lets not make a big deal when something doesn't come for free. But thats just my humble opinion
Re: Bookshop, an e-commerce module for Xoops
Open Source Software != Free as in beer
Thanks for the needed contribution. It will serve many well.
