I am getting reports from Dutch users about failed downloads from the Chinese XOOPS support site, and now I'm experiencing the same with this release. The connection is reset, and download not completed. Even after several tries and with cleared cache.

Please consider mirroring these popular module releases somewhere reliable, so everyone can enjoy them.

I think download from xoopsforge.com is ok for users outside of China but it is too slow for me to upload

Update works without problems, only shows my still version 3.04 in the admin panel! Normally its not problem, but we support some xoops-sites, last i didn´t remember what kind of version i have installed.

Is there any chance you could do a converter phppp? from xipb to cbb I would really like to get rid of the core hacks. I am pretty sure there is alot of people looking for the same thing.

Yes, shows 3.04 in Modules admin, and some of the templates cannot be updated because they can't be found. Going to try a fresh install.

Works great besides showing up as 3.04 in the admin area.

I can't find the area to change the settings for what types of files can be attached and their maximum size. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Edit xoops_version.php to correct the version information shown in Admin, then update your module again - worked like a charm! (there are 2 references to version - get them both)

i have aproblem with plugin.php

i cant set the default editor to dhtml

now the default is textarea.
also i read the faq in xoopsforge.com but i cant see anything about the correct config:

I´m not sure irmtfan, but i mean when u type in ./include/plugin.php:
dhtmltextarea it must work ...

3 Removed inherition of view mode and post order from system-wide preference

after upgrade from 3.0.4 to 3.0.5 now all posts in topics are in "Oldest first" show.

i change show mode in preferences --> genereal setting to "newest first" but still it shows oldest first.

how to solve this one?

suddenly today i found that by delete a topic that have replies it also delete from database and cant be found in "deleted topics" section.

i ndont have this problem when delete "topics with no reply" or "posts"

Ok for the "oldest first" issue i change viewtopic.php like the one in 3.0.4:

I just updated and now when I try and edit the forum permissions I get:
"Warning [PHP]: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in file C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\AusCps\modules\newbb\include\vars.php line 212" and I'm unable to edit any permissions

Hi there,
first of all thank you for this great BB!

We upgraded from CBB 1.16 to CBB 3.05, but we got into troubles with several things... we are using XOOPS 2.0.9.2 core:

1) "{$xoops_dirname}" is not recognized in templates, we solved it adding "$xoopsTpl->assign('xoops_dirname', $xoopsModule->getVar('dirname') );" in almost all .PHP module files.

2) threads are not marked as "visited"... we recognized that a few BB MySQL tables was not created during upgrade: "bb_reads_forum" and "bb_reads_topic"... we added them using a partial .SQL script, but still threads are not properly marked as "readed" browsing forums.

3) last but not least, the background of "post_content-a.gif" in "newbb\images\imagesets\default" directory is not transparent as it would be.

We hope to reach the development team with this message. If you can tell us how to reach them then please send us a PM, we will be glad to help the developers.

Does CBB use the same tables and maintain everything that's already in the NEWBB forum if you already had that on the site? I'm looking to go ahead and make the upgrade now since my site is relatively new, but I'd like to be able to keep all of the posts that are there. Help is appreciated.

Great.
I have a question. I use cbb 2.30 and i want to upgade it to 3.05. I saw in the sql folder some sql files for upgrade process I think.
Where is the php script for upgade? I tried sql comand in phpmyadmin but I got error mesage like 'can't drop YYY....'
I did already overwrite the files and seems to be OK, but I haven't test it yet. I would like to complete the upgrade process.
Some advices for data base upgrade?

just update "cbb" in module admin page and all upgrade will be done automatically.

there should be a file in newbb/include/plugin.php

with the line that says.. and set it to.

In 3.04 there is a problem with anonymous posting.

any anonymous posts are vaporized I do not ever get a chance to approve them. I would also like to see the IP address on the ones for approval for baning spamers

Has any of this been addressed in 3.05?
