Re: XOOPS is the star of the showThanks for your positive feedback. I had let the site go dormant for several years until I recently by chance found Xoops. I used to run the back end in Perl and am now trying PHP for the first time.
I had a crack at PostNuke and Drupal, but XOOPS reigns supreme. I love News 1.44 
, plus the other great modules (I've played around with quite a few) PD-Links 
, and a hacked version of piCal called achiCal 
and myalbum-p . Plus I'm just filling up SmartSection with articles and it'll be up there soon.
I'll soon re-launch the site once I tweak some block templates but XOOPS is by for the best CMS out-of-the-box will little knowledge of PHP. Thanks again
