Actually, how can I install this module?
I must admit I couldn’t install it at all. XOOPS made the table in the data base but in admin zen looks like an uninstalled module. I deleted the tables but I wondered if I had to reinstall the site. It is a testing site but.....
Well, some modules, and zencart is a complex one, should have some descriptions and detailed instructions about installing and using. It isn't so hard compared to making a module. Why shouldn't you provide a guide, if you already make this great module for xoops....

I installed it without any problems.

First upload the SHOP folder to your /modules folder. Install. Read the readme.txt.

For usage of zen-cart refer to the zen-cart.com site.

The usual instalation process I tried too. But I was wondering if is necessary to run an install script or something. The readme file is about the original script of Zen Cart, not about the xoops-ported one.
Thank you for your quick answer and I am glad to hear that it works. That mean I am close and I'm looking for the wrong part of my actions.

Well, I'm back. Sorry for my silly question but I missed the readme file. I was looking into /shop/ folder only. Readme was in the location were I've unzipped the hole archive. I'll try to get it right and I'll let you know.

Me again. I installed and looks great. But.
In the public part of the site, some buttons are not displayed.
Is that possible because it is a test site installed not in the root of the domain but in a folder, and for this reason to have some wrong path to images for buttons? Has anybody installed this module in a folder like http://www.domain.com/clonesite/ and get this kind of error? Maybe I should install it in tha main site and check out there.

I'm on a subdomain and it looks fine. Haven't tried under a folder but their is no reason it wouldn't work.

How do you get this to see your admin username/password? I installed it and it doenst recognize either.

Thank you Lance_ for your reply. I watched the code and I think is something like the part of language selection. I've cloned the language files (romanian), uploaded it, and seted it in admin part. The buttons issue is part of language zone. After setting the name of language folder, I notticed that the path to language directory is something like /clonesite/clonesite/modules/shop/includes/languages/romanian . Fore some reason it doubles the part of clonesite/ of the path. Thats why the code switch to default language (english) for strings but maybe not for buttons images part. Maybe.
I'm digging.
Well, the next question is, if anybody tried Zen with another language pack. Still, I am verry glad with this module, and if I'll find something about this issue, I'll let you know.

The default admin login/password combination is admin/admin .

You need to change this in the admin section, it is not linked to xoops.

I have installed the zen-cart module. The access from the admin/modules area works just fine. There is a link in the homepage main menu that, when clicked, gives the following results.

This is usually missing/corrupted files. Reupload the header.php and common.php.

Verify that all files are on your server.

Thanks Lance - I have re-uploaded the header.php files but I cannot find any common.php file on my site nor in the file archive I downloaded from sourceforge. I just now downloaded a new copy and the same is true ... no common.php file. Any thoughts?

I created the same errors as you have by deleting the common.php file in the xoops/include/ folder.

Re-upload the common.php file from the XOOPS archive, it's not from the cart module. Also re-upload your header.php from xoops.

I've just installed a clean copy of 2.0.13.1 and the zen-cart module appears to work fine with it.

The error message really usually points to either missing or corrupt files. If all the files are there maybe there are corruptions in the upload. Otherwise I do not know what else to do about it.

Among the problems I've had with this install is the one above, referencing "XOOPS_ROOT_PATH"; as near as I can figure, it's because the following line is missing from the top of /modules/shop/includes/application_top.php'

require "../../mainfile.php";

Without that line, the mod never checks anywhere to see how "XOOPS_ROOT_PATH" is defined.

Since I added that, that particular error goes away; now I get to tackle the 7-10 other things that are just plain broken with this mod under 2.2.3 (as far as I can tell)...

Important Xoops Protector Setting for Paypal IPN

If using this module and XOOPS Protector together,

Set the following to "no" or the Paypal IPN will not communicate back to zen cart properly and orders won't show up in the orders screen.

Force intval to variables like id = 'no'

(time for a beer... that took me forever to figure out).

I am having the same problem getting to the catalog with this error running 2.014 (the admin page works fine),

Warning: main(XOOPS_ROOT_PATH/include/common.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in d:\websites\blockwatchcaptaincom\modules\shop\includes\application_top.php on line 193.... (full error at bottom; same as rogett problem)

1- If I replace common.php and header.php the same error shows itself.

2- If I add require "../../mainfile.php"; to the application_top.php I then get only this error,

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class xos_kernel_xoops2 in d:\websites\blockwatchcaptaincom\include\common.php on line 40

3- After deleting the database and all files, then re-downloading the zencart files and reuploading without any problems, turning off all extra modules, the same "failed to open stream" error shows.

4- tried rebuilding files from XOOPS modules and also from within the admin cart/tools/layout boxes controller but when rebuilding from zen admin the same "failed to open stream" error shows.

5- contacted the isp and they said all the paths are correct.

The chmod is correct, the configuration files look correct, custom session is running, and the site runs without problems.

If this is a missing or corrupt file problem how can I find it - the site runs fine. What can I look at next to solve this problem?
