@xueming: The intention of HTML originally was to let the browser decide how to render something. If a browser can use a window with 1600 horizontal pixels, it can decide how to use the pixels.
Fixed themes somewhat violate this policy. Why using only 800 pixels instead of the possible maximum screensize?
Re: I started the distribution of xoops themes.Metropolis: you expressed your disagreement and difference of opinion is a harsh manner ('you don't understand how HTML is intended to work'). That does not show much respect for what other people do, and is therefore rude. Of course you can have another opinion, and nobody will blame you for that, as long as you express it with respect.
As for HTML being intended to have variable width tables mostly (only?), why would it contain specifications for fixed widths? HTML is a markup langauge designed to make sure that the browser renders the markup exactly the way it was intended, fixed or not. So, we disagree on that point (see how it can be put with respect as well?)

Regarding the fixed or not fixed size....it´s so easy to set that to what u want. I didn´t uderstand some complains.
