Modules: Ephemerids Module (with 70K plus events)

Posted by: just4funOn 2005/2/5 9:06:24 5927 reads
Ephemerids Module (with 70K plus events), ported PHP-Nuke's Ephemerids module to xoops with a block to display. Not so professional but usable.

Is there a demo for this module?

How is this module different from the one that used to come with Xoops?

By the way, when was the Ephemerides module droped from Xoops?

I must to mention - module's block is big slowdown. Instead of ~3-4 second for rendering page I get now ~6

It shows "Today in the history"
BTW, quick Googling with string "Ephemerids Module" will show you link tomodule description (for Xaraya and Nuke) in 1-st and 3-rd position of search results.

LazyBadger, I could not see the demo of this module on your site... have you removed it?

However, I was interested in the sitemap module, is that available for download somewhere. I only saw an old version not suitable for XOOPS 2.

Can I make a suggestion to you ... seeing you are making such a a good display of modules, why don't you install the Credits module , so that full details of all your site modules are displayed

I have module's block on main page — second CC-block. Maybe I forgot (or was not so fast) to eable anonymous access to block, but - it's enabled now (verified).
Sitemap was found at http://www.peak.ne.jp/xoops/modules/mydownloads/, last 0.9 version blindly downloaded from ... somewhere at petitoops.net (direct link was posted in our russian forum), and I have it in my local archive.
I have Credits installed and use it (2-nd right block), but it has problems (with some block, at least), which prohibit me to enable module's credits (I wrote about it some time ago here)...
Module's block uses Java-script, where block content is one string variable

var scrollercontent='bla-bla'

but!!! Module's data can contain ' char in it, thus - broke assignment and script at all.
I'm not good Javascript writer (I'm not JS-writer) and I don't know, how to sanitize this bad char.

Permanent link for sitemap is http://petitoops.net/modules/weblinks/visit.php?lid=11, and last version is 0.10 today

I too have these mistakes when installing this mod. What's the secret to importing the data and finding the logo?

thanks in advance

No secrets of importing - I done it by hand using dump and conlose mysql-client
Logo - it mentioned as
$modversion['image'] = "images/logo.png";
but images dir is empty, I just created own module-logo

PS - we (in XOOPS2 Russia)have plans add some admin parts to module, at least ability add-edit-delete events

Great module if your database prefix is "xoops." Otherwise, be prepared to spend at least a half hour doing a find/replace with a text editor while it goes through a 9 MB sql file.
