xhld is the most powerful and the latest headline module.
this module can recieve various feeds by RSS 0.9x/1.0/2.0 and ATOM 0.3

You can see the demonstration of xhld

Although xhld is based on XoopsHeadline as standard module, xhld is more excellent in following points.

- powerful (ATOM ready!)
- fast (x100 over)
- secure (you can turn allow_url_fopen off)
- feature rich (title&link extraction, Duplicatable V2.1, proxy etc.)

"description" is not assigned for block.
Thus this hack is needed.

After this hack, you can edit the temlate xhld*_block_mixed.html.

This is a great mod btw. I like being able to have multiple headlines. I have a question though, some of my feeds list the date and time and some don't is there a way to make it universal. So that all feeds show the date OR all feeds do not show the date?

Or better yet, can I list just the date but not the time on all feeds?

As usual you produce excellent product for the XOOPS community... Thank you.

Small Problem.

I have xhld on a site and configured 7 x atom.xml source. When approved No. 7 atom.xml source, feed No. 1 source feed stopped, but the other 6 continue to pull info from blogs.

PHP Debug On No 1 Feed error below, other feeds no errors.

You can modify headline.php in the blocks directory

under
function b_xhld_mixed_show( $options )
'date' => formatTimestamp( $item['pubdate'] , 'm' )

changing m to s should display the date in the format Y/n/j (if you have not modified the date format in file /language/your_language/global.php)

Thanks but I'm not exactly sure if that's what I want to do.

Right now some of the links are listed like this: "11/26 08:48 Then the link"

But not all the links are displayed with the date/time before them -- I just want it to be consistent. Either they should all have the date and time before them, or better yet, NONE of them would have the date/time before them.

Like so, "The link is shown" but no date/time info is shown before it. Is there a way to make all the links in the headlines display like that?

Perhaps, some parsing errors occurred.
Tell me URI of the 7th atom.xml

Although I can't correctly understand what you want,
you can specify the format of date/time with xhld 2.53.

Of course, you can disable date/time displaying.

Thanks GIJOE. Yeah, basically what I want is the last thing you mentioned: to disable date/time displaying on all listings.

Right now I'm using 2.21 and I don't think I can do that.

Is it easy to upgrade from 2.21 to the newest version (2.51)?

quite easy.
remove /modules/xhld0 from server entirely.
upload the latest /modules/xhld0 from local.
update xhld0 from modules admin.

Hi I got a question..

I installed the module and it runs smoothly.. however, when the headline description gets long, it produces a link "more..." which leads to a non-existant page.. for example: the current yahoo news on Celebrities Offer Brief Relief for Troops produces a "more..." link to this following blank page..

The second entry in the floating [Javascript(?)] menu for the module XHLD0 is _MI_HEADLINES_ADMENU_MYBLOCKSADMIN. This should be showing Blocks/Groups.

I appreciate it may not apply to this module (which sounds great BTW), but there appears to be a lot of problems with headline mods and PHP 5. Can anyone say if the issue highlighted here in this long-running thread is the cause?

According to the download page for this module, GIJOE indicated through the icon that this module is PHP5 compliant. As with any major update with lots of changes there is going to be compatibility issues. The next version of XOOPS is supposed to fully support PHP5. Now and in the next coming months is when other module developers should write code with PHP5 in mind.

And of course should be coding to allow register_globals and allow_url_fopen both to off.

PHP5 is still new, but pretty soon like version 4 overtook version 3, PHP5 will dominate the internet server versions.

Greetings - My apologies.

I should have mentioned that I am using the 2.92a version.

So these specific errors are are still there. Please also note that these errors are actually occuring on my production website which is PHP Version 4.3.10.

I am using PHP 5, Apache 1.3, My sql 4.1 on XP box. and whenever I am trying to submit any headline it is giving the following message,

Failed saving data to database for headline BBC
XmlParse error: SYSTEM or PUBLIC, the URI is missing at line 1

Please help me in resolving above. Please guide me in detail as I am quite new in this community.
