When I try to upload a new template file I get this error, I've confirmed that it's full HTML the template. Why is it saying it's text?

Upload by what mean?

uploader mod or ftp?

oh! by the uploader inside of the XOOPS administration where you click browse select the template file, blah blah

are u talking about one template file or a template set...
that uploader is for a whole set.
must be .gz/.tar

So I need to gzip the individual html templates? I mean I am learning how to theme/modify templates so I'm frequently uploading new versions of files.

I did finally figure it out, quite a while ago actually, just forgot to get back to you all.

Xoops definitely needs some documentation

I'm having the exact same problem.
After creating a clone of the template and downloading it, I did some changes and uploaded it to the server, changed my default to the clone. Up till now everything works great. After generating some items, I decided to uploaded some changed files to a particular section (news). For some reason unknown to me, I can upload news_archive.html and several others, but news_item.html always gives me that error.

Help!
