Convert latin1_swedish_ci to UTF-8

Is there a some kind of converter to do this automatically ?

I did found here a converter but it didn't correctly convert the publisher database

At this moment i have latin1_swedish_ci

Re: Convert latin1_swedish_ci to UTF-8

What was the problem, and which tool did you use? The Convert_mysql from montuy337513?

You can also try CDC: http://bobsguides.com/convert-db-utf8.html

Re: Convert latin1_swedish_ci to UTF-8

Try with module backup, i converted all db in utf-8.
The module can't modify or broken system database, you can create one copy in other database. If all is correct, set the copy database as the system and modofy old system db.

Re: Convert latin1_swedish_ci to UTF-8

One method:
1) Export out of phpMyAdmin the whole database in your default latin1_swedish

2) open the document in something like Notepad++

3) convert the document inside Notepad++ as UTF-8 and save it

4) import into phpMyAdmin

Make sure you do a backup, and then test it before you go live with it.
