System broke down???

When I was adding an article this morning in the module Soapbox I was after pressing the post button redirected to my home page and the article wasn't posted.
Normally you get a message from the system if the article is posted or not, but no message this time....
I have tried it several times but every time the same result.

So I went to the system settings to turn on the debug mode but no response at all!!

I went back to see if it really was turned on but it wasn't , so I did it again, but again no debug mode and no message from the system as well.

If I tried to turn off the site but that doesn't work either. Same thing.

Can anybody please help me?

My xoops version is 2.5.6 and all modules are up to date.

BTW if I try to update a module I have got no response aswell..

I just replaced the system module but that didn't work

And here's a weird thing, I can place a new news article, so the news module is still working

Also, I have on within this same domain (within a subdomain) an other xoops site running which is also the 2.5.6 version and all up to date but no problems with this one.

Furthermore I didn't change or add anything for as I can remember so I am almost thinking this one is hacked

Well I've just installed a fresh install in a other directory and as soon as I arrive to the login I get a blanc screen....

With the original install, well it just is getting weirder. Changes in modules preferences I can't make, when I try I am just being redirected and the changes are not being made.
Now too, as I go to my http://www.mydomain.com/user.php I get a blanc screen although I am still logged in so when I do http://www.mydomain.com/admin.php I get within the admin site.

Thankfully my site is still accessible for the public and this weird problem doesn't effect my other site which is located at http://www.mydomein.com/francais/ .

Anyone?? This is getting troublesome. It can't be a sql problem, can it?

Meanwhile I am contacting my provider maybe they can see something.

1. maybe your host upgrade something ?

2. I faced this issue too sometime..not sure if its a browser issue or xoops issue preferences is not save..cant edit block. cant post article etc

what i did to make it to back to normal was to clean the xoops cache in adminn panel

you can also clean it manually..in cpanel xoops_data/cache/ empty the smarty compile, smarty cache and xoops cache folder leave the index.html file..

and clear the browser history... try that if it helps

Hey noo-b,

yeah I asked my host this morning to take al look.

Cleaning out the caches was one of the first things I have done, also tried other browsers but no difference.

The most bizar thing is I think that I can't even make a new install any more and that other xoops sites within my domein are still working...

Thanks for your response thought!

For xoops 2.5.6 you need PHP 5.3.7+
