For those of you who are not yet members on GitHub and are not following the XOOPS 2.6.0 development there, below is a list of recent updates & closed issues within the last four weeks:

#38 Remove the need to have a mainfile.php in the distribution

#37 Add explicit exit so we don't terminate randomly on some fatal error.

#36 Updates to installer for xoop_lib location and Doctrine

#35 Handful of little fixes for minor irritants.

#34 Fix User Config URLs in User Menu, convert to schema

#33 Convert to schema, fix several issues.

#32 Updates for Legacy compatibility and 1 minor bug change.

#31 Significant speedup for module installs

#30 Include redheadedrod's latest changes

#29 Converting avatars and banners to doctrine and portable schema

#28 Add schematool - a developer tool to create portable schema definitions

#27 Update to phpdebugbar 1.7.0

#26 System module conversion to Doctrine DBAL

#25 Standardized Avatar

You can follow the closed issues/updates here

You can also report any issues that you might find with XOOPS 2.6.0.

Please fork XOOPS 2.6.0, test it, provide improvement suggestions, report bugs and provide solutions/patches.

Also if you do get involved please make sure you discuss with Richard if you are looking to add or modify something. We are touching a lot of different parts of the core so there is no point in 2 or 3 different people writing the same code. We would love input and help but it will save Richard a lot of work if you contact him ahead of time with your ideas etc.
