Hello,

I have done everything up to runninghttp://yourdomainname.com/index.php obviously with my domain.

I can't find such a file in the install and adding that to the address bar gives me 'no such file'. I am learning to Install software from downloads instead of one click Installs, Wordpress went like a dream yesterday so I thought this may work too...wrong answer.

Thanks for any help!
K

What are you trying to do? Did you install XOOPS? Is it running? Which version?

What exactly file are you looking for? "install"? or "index.php"?

There is a XOOPS Installation Guide with more detailed information that could be helpful

Hi Mamba,

I ftp xoops to my chosen directory, the database has been created

I don't see any Install file in the htdocs, maybe there is not supposed to be one.

Puttinghttp://katecorner.com/index.php gets me a 404.

Chmod is correct.

Sorry, I dl the latest version 2.5.5to2.5.6 according to the dl.

But obviously your domain doesn't point to the XOOPS directory. Make sure that it does - you need to do it on your cPanel, or contact your server administrator.

Firebug add-on for Firefox should display the directory the user attempted to access in the error.

Re: Install

If you type just the name of your site it will automatically go to install. No need to type it.

Make sure the contents of the htdocs are in your main directory. Don't copy the folder its self. If you copy the folder its self you would have to run your site as:

http://katecorner.com/htdocs/

And you don't want this..
