As most of you know, the newest version PHP is 5.5.1.

So has anybody installed PHP 5.5.x and would like to help with testing of XOOPS 2.5.7 as we are fixing bugs?

It would be nice to have a XOOPS version that runs error-free on latest official version PHP 5.5.1 :)

I started using PHP 5.5.1 as my development/testing platform, and was annoyed by the constant "preg_replace() /e modifier" deprecated notices:

So finally this weekend I did some quick conversion of the functions in modifier module.textsanitizer.php utilizing the preg_replace() /e functionality to use the preg_replace_callback() function.

It seems to be working OK right now on my WAMP installation, i.e. no errors for me, but maybe our PHP/Core experts can take a look and improve it, as needed?

Also, it would be great if more people could start testing the XOOPS 2.5.7 version from SVN, to see if there are more issues related to PHP 5.5.1

The changes I've made are now in XOOPS SVN, so let me know if it works for you. And our PHP gurus and Core experts - please help us to improve it.
