I can't get TDMDownloads to accept the mime type for apk files

I added the line : application/vnd.android.package-archive.apk| in the authorized mime types under preferences

I also created a .htaccess file with the line

AddType application/vnd.android.package-archive .apk

either the module does nothing after clicking on submit, or i get the error

Errors Returned While Uploading file: English Phrasal Verbs.apk
The file you're trying to upload is not supported by this site/server.

I talked to my host and they said to create the htaccess file

can someone suggest something to get this to work?

the server that I use has this type of mime

application/vnd.android.package-archive

in the htaccess or the module preferences?

never mind. i made that change to all of them and it's still not uploading

No I was referring in cpanel to the server, this you can add it yourself if you have access to your server.

they don't have cpanel, they have a different panel

and they tell me there are no restrictions on file types.

As far as they are concerned, it's the modules problem because other hosted sites with apk files don't have a problem

I hate to always show grammer errors but i notice in the line you added to htaccess is:

AddType application/vnd.android.package-archive .apk

there is a space between archive and .apk

not sure if that is right.

i tried it without the space and it killed the website

then i did a search on the internet and it is correct with the space

every example i could find had the space
