Accessing the site for the first time since it was down, I noticed that the forum post username is exceeding the right border of the block and is merged with that of Whos online etc. Anyone else getting this?

Yes this issue can be solved by using a css3 truncate style at the end of a table row.
.truncate { 
    white-space: nowrap; 
    overflow: hidden; 
} 
.ellipsis { 
    text-overflow: ellipsis;  // IE 6+, FF 7+, Op 11+, Saf 1.3+, Chr 1+ 
}
