set up on a localhost

XOOPS Version XOOPS 2.5.6
PHP Version 5.3.5
mySQL Version 5.5.8
Server API apache2handler
OS WINNT

Version : 1.09
Author : Zoullou

eXtGallery is a powerful web gallery module for XOOPS

I installed the module and imported the tables and data dump from my old site using an SQL query

all the data is in the mysql but none of the photos or categories show up

I checked all preferences, permissions and group permissions.

There were literally THOUSANDS of photos in the gallery

Can someone suggest how to get everything to show?

Then there is something wrong with your configuration.

For example, are the images in the correct subdirectory, that is consistent with the module settings?

Try to add a new image and see if it is being added correctly. Then check where is it being stored. All the old images should be there too. If they are not there, then you need to fix it.

the images are in the proper subdir. they were copied from the backup file

the module also doesn't show the category list, which it should if it was directly imported by sql

Confirm this exact issue with extGallery 1.11 following upgrade from 2.5.5 to 2.5.6.

Verified the following:

-Module was updated following upgrade;
-Categories are setup in config and accessible to users;
-The photos are show under the category for which they were configured under the category config;
-That photos physically exist in their original path.
-All intended permissions are intact.

They just no longer display.

Xoobare, you have more issues there. For example, the Gallery module doesn't go to its Admin screen but to the front page, when I click on it in the Admin view. See you email for more details.

That module was outside the group you were in for that purpose, so it was working normally.

Key word... was. You should be okay to try it now.

It is now working in Admin, but it seems like the data is messed up. For example, on the front view, the categories indicate 17, 1, 17 pictures respectively, but in the Admin only one category indicates to have pictures (10), so something is totally out of sync there.

Since we don't deal with hundreds of pictures, you might consider to re-install the module as fresh installation, and then upload the pictures again.

No problem on reinstall, however this is not the first discussion on discrepancies in extG quantity count. I think myself and the cifug had both raised issues.

The image files already in the upload directory cannot be used with the reinstalled module by copying into batch?
