I still have problems with Tortoise SVN latest version.

I deleted the folder .svn to fix the problem.

The problem is solved for a short time and then again the same problem.

Some time ago I put the repositories in a different folder to avoid this problem, now returns with another folder.

I can't understand.

Hmm, maybe because you're using XP?

I use Win 7 with the 64 bit version of TortoiseSVN, and never had any issues with it.

Try maybe another SVN client like the SmartSVN and see if this helps. More SVN clients are listed here

I think I have a problem with compatibility in WinXP and TortoiseSVN

If I update with any new folder tells me it's lock, but if I click on the menu item if export is operating normally.

So I always have to export and do not update, otherwise it makes me lock.

I was thinking of upgrading to Windows 8 Pro, what do you think is suitable for a work environment compared to Win XP?

Win 7 Pro or Win 8 Pro will be definitely much better than XP
Especially if you can run it at 64 bit on your hardware!

As Mamba says, both windows 7 and 8 are far more stable compared to XP. And work much quicker!

Re: Tortoise SVN latest version

If you want the most stable environment right now your best bet is Windows 7 Professional.

Windows 8 is brand new and you are likely to find bugs either with the OS or with programs using it. Windows 8 in a year or so would be a good choice. But for now I would suggest Windows 7. If you get the professional version you get additional stuff with it along with a virtual "box" that will run Win XP software if you absolutely have to have XP compatibility. Otherwise Windows Home Premium is the best choice if you don't need the extras that Win7 pro gives you.

Also with Win 8 they removed the start menu and incorporated the "Metro" interface which can be very annoying. If you use Win 8 I suggest downloading a program called "Classic Shell" which will give you a normal Start Menu again. I seldom use the Metro interface on mine because it is MUCH easier to use a standard start menu. I am testing Win8 on one of my machines and I don't care for it. Have had it installed about 2 weeks now and I would have already erased it if not for the Classic Shell program.
