Sometimes we need to check if files contain BOM , and if you need to search for it among many directories, you need a quick and simple tool.

Today I've discovered a very nice and free tool called File BOM Detector. You can very quickly search for files, and then very quickly remove the BOM from selected files.

Thank you Mamba.
Entring xoops into utf8 will cause some issues like this BOM for new translators.
Also i can share these free tools for windows:

http://www.componentsoftware.com/products/freetool.htm

personally i recommend using csdiff for new users. it can find differences in files/directories and the whole releases. for example you can find differences between xoops 2.5.4 and 2.5.5 by a single click.
