Im new here. just want to know if xoops is similar to wordpress?

It depends of what you want to achieve? But, yes - it is.

Xoops can even integrate WordPress with XpressMe module.

I tested the module XpressMe 2.42 (the most stable version) under Xoops 2.5.5, it is functional.

You also have the choice of other blog modules, as bXpress.

I own a small business web design company called Pixel Chefs and we are using Wordpress a lot. I have a new client that wants us to use xoops. Can anyone tell me what are the differences. ( I will google it, but hope the forum helps more..)

Though it is not all that easy to start with Xoops as it is with Wordpress. And Yes, I agree about integrating Xoops with Wordpress with XpressMe module.

I am also new to Xoops. I have built a couple of websites using Wordpress. I think I will start reading the getting started documentation and tutorials.

Has anyone got any good book recommendations regarding building websites using Xoops. Maybe starting from beginner to advanced levels. But something that is not too technical. Or is written for ordinary people.

the most recent xoops is 2.5.5 but 2.5.2 installation guide has a little or no difference.

New here too and built basic wordpress sites, will give this a try
