Restrict access to users according to the country of origin

Is possible to restrict access to the site or any section of the site to users according to the country of origin.

Would need to see the possibility of blocking access to a section from the country of origin of the web and open access to all other countries.

First of all you would have to have a way to figure out where they were at. Currently the ONLY way to do this is with their IP addresses. Or by their own admission.

You CAN ban by IP address but realistically trying to ban someone in this manner is easy to get around.

Is there a particular reason why you want to ban people from certain areas?

I will tell you, this will be hard to enforce no matter what you do. If you ban people by age for instance, all they have to do is enter a different age and they are no longer banned.

Is there a reason why you want to ban these people specifically?

I can think of a number of reasons to do this

China, for instance, or India. I get a ton of spam registrations form India

I commented
I'm doing work for a print magazine that wants to sell subscriptions to all the countries except where performed.
In this country only want to sell the printed edition.

There would be no problem accessing the whole site except for the section of the magazine subscription and pdf

He had thought of using it htaccess but restrict access to the entire web site.
Restrict access to a module or a module category as with the groups but using the ip would be a partial solution.
But not how or if there is some hack to do

Maybe the apachte mod geoip can be useful, without me having a worked out plan on how to implement this in your case... http://www.maxmind.com/app/mod_geoip
