What's New module and Newletter

Hello,

I'm planning to use what's new module to deliver content to monthly newsletter and it does exactly what i'm looking for except one thing...

I would like to change "what's new" block to show updates from selected modules only for last 30 days or last month or maybe even in configuration set the dates whichever is easier; so if email goes out on the 1st of each month i don't have to adjust anything in content or resubmit the query

Can somebody help me with this?

I think "smartmail" with cron job feature can deliver content of any module automatically, I paid for develop it to work with older XOOPS ( may be 2.0.13.2 ) but I don't know if it is still working with XOOPS 2.4.x and 2.5

Also I have another module "newslatter" made by Trabis can use for deliver any content but manually. we can release it once Trabis have time for testing it on new versions of XOOPS.

Can someone explain configuration of newsletters module... I created a newsletter, added custom blocks with info i want to send, created schedule, added my host's IP address so it allows to send emails - but i don't receive email :( What am i doing wrong here?

Check if you your XOOPS installation is able to send emails.

Go to:

yoursite/modules/system/admin.php?fct=mailusers

and send an email to Webmaster (i.e. you).

If it works, then we'll need to look more into the newsletter...

I am able to send emails from xoops, as well as from newsletter when i click on preview; the only trouble is to send emails automatically on schedule

I don't use the feature, so it would be hard for me to look into it and understand the code, especially since I am over busy right now.

Timgno was working recently on xNews, so maybe he could help?
