when i post a reply no matter what it is (not a new topic)
i have this error

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /arabic/modules/newbb/post.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

so i tried to add this to .htaccess

SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off

but the entire site stopped working

what should i do?
my PHP Version 5.3.8
my xoops Version 2.0.18
(btw, we can't download from sourcefrog from syria , i had report the problem few times)

it looks like i'm able to reply to some of topics (only few 1%)
i'm not able to view or post reply to most topics (always with same error)

File permissions of /arabic/modules/newbb/post.php should be 644.

it does like every file in the folder (newbb)
i guess it has somthing with apache configurations
because my site has been woking just fine until the host starts to change the settings
(it's not my first problem, but it's the first hard to solve)

Have you turned debugging on? What errors are you getting?

What is working and what isn't. What are the differences?

We need clear information about what you know and have tried and what you can't seem to figure out.

Did the host update PHP? XOOPS 2.0.18 is a little old for PHP 5.3 and that might be the issue. Which version of CBB (newbb)?

Can you update your XOOPS (to 2.4.5 at least which is very stable)?

when i turn debugging mode on
it's not loading on error 403 page :(
so i have no error!!!

somtime i can reply to post sometimes not (reply or previre the reply)
there is no rule for what reply is working (even in same forum)
but i can't post reply to most of topics

i tried to edit .htaccess , but it was useless :(

the server updated on Sep 6 2011 - i had this problem since

phpBB 1.4.4

infact i have problem with downloading from sourceforge :(
and i was holding back because i want a good stable version like 2.0.18

some times Apache mod security find problem in one file and close it . I think your problem is same.

for test you or your serve admin must disable mod security for your account for some minute and you can test it

i can't change the security mod on server
and anyway i won't be able to change it forever (like anyone else)

i think that the it's the problem,but i don't know what do do :(

My guess is that you are having issues due to the PHP version. 2.4.x came out to bring xoops up to php5. Older versions of xoops and modules are likely to have strange issues with newer versions of php.

You may want to try setting up a test server on your host with 2.4.5 if you are able to and see if it works for you with the modules you have installed now. (Or newer versions) You will likely find it works fine with 2.4.5.

I did have issues on my home server with xampp 1.7.4 with 2.4.5 but 2.5.1a seemed to work great. So I run 1.7.2 at home for developmental purposes which works nicely with 2.4.5 and 2.5.1a,

Not sure if 2.4.5 is just not compatible with the newest php5 or if the newest xampp had something in it that 2.4.5 didn't like.
