401 authorization required!!!

Hi i have just done a new install of 2.5.1 and wioth 2 different modules to upload images i get a fault saying 401 authorization required when trying to upload. However this is only on the java type uploader window. when using the standard type window it works fine. i have checked and double ched my file permissions etc and they all seem fine! any help with this would be great!!!
