I am using xoops 2.5 and Businex theme. I had made no changes to the theme or template, I installed a few modules like newbb and news, and everything works fine.

Then I went to Templates in the admin panel and edited the theme.html to simply change the header title and slogan that was displayed on the site.

I saved it and the site did not show the changes.

Then I went to my settings and turned on "check templates for changes".

Now when I go to my homepage the page won't load and it says:

A problem has occurred on our server!
Page is currently unavailable

We are treating the incident
Please, coming soon ...

Error : Smarty error: [in db:news_block_top.html line 915]: syntax error: unidentified token '#039;counter'' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 1410)


How should I go about fixing this?

one of the things i would do would be to rename the the folder the theme is in. (make sure you still have the default theme still there). and that should make xoops change the theme automatically back to the default theme. -Guess it doesnt do this anymore

or try going to yoursite.com/admin.php

or try editing the theme again
