After installing the latest Xoops 2.5
I get at the end some warning:

WARNING: Folder /www/MW_PPnRGaG/htdocs/xoops_lib is inside DocumentRoot!
For security considerations it is highly suggested to move it out of DocumentRoot.

If I move these two folders on the site root, I do net anymore the administration page.

Clicking on every module to manage the content, I get a blank page.

(Installed Modules
System - Private Messaging - User Profile - Protector)

Did you update your mainfile.php?

If not, please check out the detailed Installation Guide

To expand on what Mamba is saying...

You need to move those out of document root but you also need to update the mainfile.php to reflect this change.

The lines like these in mainfile.php need to be modified to point to the right directories... ( lines 26-29 in the file I am quoting this from)
