Hi All,

I am using the News module for documents (which works well).

Is there a way to display a list of topics ?

In Archive / or on the home page of News - can a user select which topic he wants, then clicks on the one he wants for more information?

i.e. if I have Vestry 2010 and Vestry 2009 - there is no way to see Vestry 2010, other than clicking on Archive which shows November 2010 (not Vestry 2010).

I would also like to change the words news to documents. How?

Hope this makes sense - and look forward to your replies Urgently.
Thanks so much.

yes, you can have it on top, a pull down menu with topics
See: "Select yes to display navigation box at the top of each news page" in News Preferences)

You'll have to wait for the xNews upcoming release. It will have a cloning option.

PLEASE: stop with this "urgent" thing. You actually pushing people away with it.

Hi Mamba

Thank you so much for the reply... (Sorry about the "urgency" but I am working on a large project which needs to be finished fairly soon... I hear you about this though)

I appreciate the replies...

News Topics:
I already have this set to Yes to diplay at the top of each news page - But I was also hoping there was a way to display the 'topic box' at the top of the MAIN / 1st News page ?

Please tell me if there is a way to do this.

Thank you so much.

If you make News your default module (in Admin/Preferences), it should be there on the 1st page (the main page)

Hi,

Thanks for that...but the main page of my site - is the user log in / password boxes.

News Topics: I was hoping to set this on the top of the News page (main news page) (not main page of the overall site).

Can't figure out how to do it, or if it is possible...

Not possible unless you adjust the templates, other than the index.html, of the xnews module.
Comment the lines out where it calls that specific code.
