Hey Guys,

I was wondering if you could help me answer a few questions.

Modules - I upload new modules in version 2.4.4 into the modules folder but when I go to modules admin there are no uninstalled modules waiting to be installed. Am I doing something wrong?

New Pages - I guess new pages can be created with some of the module packages(which I can't install). Is there another way to add new pages?

Visable in - I guess this is also applicable to the above but how to you add new pages that can be added to the visable in?

Sorry guys hate being the newbie :(

Hi, wizzkid... Welcome to XOOPS!...:)

First... did you extract the zip files into modules folder?

For new pages you could install News module, AMS module, etc...

Visible in - You're probably browsing blocks admin... Just make a custom block by adding some text and set it to show on top page... you'll soon get the idea... :)

Appreciate the reply.

Found the module problem, turned debugging on and it turned out the magazines module I was playing with had an error.Deleted the module it and now the other modules have come up:)

The visable in i was refering to is in the blocks admin. Top Page seems to be one page, how to you add a new one like an about us page for example.

Thanks for your help starting to get the hang of it now, lovin xoops so far:)

What? the magazine covers generator? if so, that's my modul... what was the error?

No, it's a very old module that doesn't work anymore on new version of XOOPS/PHP

oh, ok, thanks for clearing that up... got puzzled here for a moment... :)

wizzkid, just install news module and test it out... you can add as many new pages as you like... blocks are more static... :)
