I want to use htaccess method

i put this in my htaccess
RewriteEngine   On
RewriteRule
^publisher.([a-z]+).([0-9.]+)/  modules/publisher/index.php?seoOp=$1&seoArg=$2

i want to enable seo htaccess method in preferences but there is no option for that...

I have the same problem.

At the moment i set path-info and left blank URL Rewriting module name

The title of the article is now rewrited but module name is still modules/publisher. I tried everything and i am getting errors.

I think somebody should give a detailed instruction how to make it work!

Open xoops_version.php and remove the condition:
//if ($isModuleAction && in_array(php_sapi_name(), array("apache", "apache2handler"))) {

$modversion['config'][$i]['options'][_MI_PUBLISHER_URL_REWRITE_HTACCESS]  = 'htaccess';
//}

I ve added this line to .htaccess and changed my preferences to path-info and also set the name xxx for URL Rewriting module.

i changed xoops_version as well

My adress still looks like www.mysite.com/modules/publisher/index.php/item.24/title-of-artice .... Shouldn t be www.mysite.com/xxx/item.24/title-of-article??
What do I do wrong?

Do you have htacccess option in seo preferences after changing xoops_version? If not then update publisher and set seo preference to htaccess.

You get error 500 just by updating publisher??
Or you get error 500 after set publisher to use htaccess?

My guess is that your server does not have mod_rewrite enable and that is why the option was not available in preferences.
