Hi,

How do I change permissions for SmartSection categories via phpmyadmin? What tables should I edit? I failed to find anything about permissions in smartsection_categories

That is not easy task I tell you.

Got to table group_permissions.

gperm_id gperm_groupid gperm_itemid gperm_modid gperm_name

must know your modid,
permission name(like 'category_read')
where itemid will be the categoryid and groupid the authorized group to read it.

Okay, I'll ask the obvious question.......

...... why not do it via the module's admin?

I will try to explain. I had smartsection 2.13 installed before and had a backup of the database. Then I upgraded to smartsection 2.14 and it screwed something up so I decided to get back to 2.13. I have uploaded the old files via ftp and replaced sql tables by the old ones from the backup. Everything was fine 'cept that it screwed up the permissions for the categories and articles. So all I had to do is set "Apply same permissions to articles within the category" inside the category edit window. But for some darn reason when I do so it screws up the admin section so I can't see articles from the admin section at all and get a blank page every time I try to edit any article. I thought maybe if I change permissions from phpmyadmin it'd be okay.

Deka, If you can find a way to give me access to your site I may be able to help you. I know my way in smartsection pretty good.

thanks Trab, I think I am doing good for now. I reinstalled the module again and inserted item and categories values and managed to change permissions. the only problem I get now is that I can't see articles in the smartsection admin index, but i do can in the item index and thats alright.

the other question i've got is how do I fix the table alignment in the article? whenever I create a table with any editor and watch the created aritlce this table goes down like i've inserted bout 20 <br /> tho can't find one in teh source code. how can that be fixed?
