Any development on Shoutbox module?

I have Shoutbox v4 beta on one of my sites and the visitors love it. Was wondering if the development work has ceased. I have been thinking about picking up where the last developer left off. I would really like to expand this module to use a database table for entry storage and clean up some of the loose ends I have found.

Users would be delighted if the new feature done in the Shoutbox, this module is required to have a web page:)

can i make an early request ?

- the ability for user to edit/delete shout within a timeframe..let say 30 seconds/1 minute >
- the ability for admin to edit/delete shout in the shout block
- the ability for admin/moderator to reply shout...
- avatar included in shout block...the avatar can be disable or size of the avatar can be set in admin preference ..
- improved the shout block & popup block..fixed the object error in IE6/7 and make the message/text box more wider..

I have received no response so I decided to get busy studying the module so I could fully understand it's current state. As it turns out most of the coding for using the database for storage was already done.

I have the database storage now working on my site. I added some sanitizing to protect the database table entries and I added some preference parameters to define a few options for the text entry area. As soon as I expand the trim function so you can limit the number of entries stored in the database I will be posting the first CVD release with my updates.

I am not ignoring any requests but I would like to release the module pretty much with Jan304's features intact and all operational for everyone's review initially.

shoutbox is one of my must installed module in my community websites..
