HOME BUTTON takes one to INDEX.php Page~How to correct

Hi all and thanks to all of you who are helping me out...

I have uploaded and installed several themes...they all seem to have a common problem..On the left main menu, it shows "home" button at top and when one clicks on "home" they go to the index.php page...hmmmm...we don't need that...we need them to go to the page itself...

Here is what I need to correct but not sure how after searching so long and getting my eyes "sore"...The line in the bold italic, needs to be showing href="http://2nolimit.com/xoops/index.php">Home</a>

As you see below, it does not include the /index.php but just stops with /xoops which takes them to index.php page to see all the directories and files...Hope this all makes sense and how can I edit this ?

<!-- end module menu loop -->

THANKS

I don't see the difference... Anyway, what's the problem changing the link?

I can't see what this thread is about either.

@NoLimit24_FJ
I have deleted your double/cross post in the Q & A section. Please do not do this in future; apart from being bad practice and against this site's rules, it will do nothing other than hack-off other users.

Many thanks

Re: HOME BUTTON takes one to INDEX.php Page~How to correct

Hi Runeher,

Thanks for your reply...

When you say "change the link" that may be what I want to do, but am asking how? I have been to every file I know to get that home button to point to

As it is now...it points tohttp://2nolimit.com/xoops

The difference is the need t o add /index.php in that coding..Otherwise, one will go directly to the index page with all the directories and files...

Hope this helps explain a bit more...any suggestions? and if changing the "link" helps, then what file do I change it in?

Jim

Eh?

http://2nolimit.com/xoops andhttp://2nolimit.com/xoops/index.php mean exactly the same thing to a web-browser. Check out any XOOPS site (e.g. this one) and see for yourself.https://xoops.org/ andhttps://xoops.org/index.php are the same.

There's no need to do what you're trying to do.

Hey JV...this is what I thought, but for the gold theme...if you go to my site athttp://2nolimit.com/xoops and click the "home" button on menu to left, you will see what I mean...

Thanks

There's a soemthing wrong with your installation.

Yes, clicking onhttp://2nolimit.com/xoops takes you to a files list and it shouldn't. However, click on the "Parent Directory" link takes you to a website athttp://2nolimit.com/.http://2nolimit.com/xoops/index.php takes you to your correct site.

It's almost as if you have two websites running, one in a subdirectory of the first. If this is as intended then make sure that your xoops_url and xoops_root_path are correct in mainfile.php

You have to disable the indexing feature in your hosts control panel... don't remember what it's called but take a look...

No it isn't - it's behaving most oddly and not as other XOOPS sites. Like I said, check those entries in your mainfile.php
