1.Can anyone update these modules to work with XOOPS 2.3 and Php 4/Php 5?

2. Does XOOPS have obituaries module?

In answer to 2) you could use the Alumni module for obituaries (you would need to change the language definitions a little). Or, you can add an 'obituaries' category to Alumni by following the hacks mentioned in this thread..
