Yesterday was my life easier.

Google has implementet Danish in their translations.

That sparre me for so much time translating modules. Of course the translation just has to been run through as the worst mistakes avoided.

In wordprees there are actually a module using google to translations.

Is there anyone who can take the ball here, and develop a module using google - or should we hope the developer of Lang_tool can / will build it?

Greek are also in translate.google but it is simply unusable.
It is fine though to get some text translated but the work you need to correct it is the same as from scratch.

I our case (translation of small sentences) is better to do it one by one and (most important) to check them in their environment (site).

I'm impressed for danish translations.
Yesterday evening i translated the module "classfield add" and there were very small errors.

It took about 1 hour to translate and correct the errors.

Lang_tool could have the ability, to fill out the "white box" from google's translator. If it not match, you can of course just overwrite

This is really COOL!!!!

But I have problems with PHP > 5.0.5 (I'm testing it on WAMP Server)

The error is:

Call to undefined function the_form() in S:\wamp\www\xoops233rc1\modules\xi18n\admin\index.php on line 35

It works fine on 5.0.5, but generates the above error on PHP 5.2.8 and 5.1.6.

The function "the_form" is defined in /admin/function.php, so somehow PHP is not loading it.

Are the any changes in PHP in the new versions causing it?

If we could clean it up and update to the newest version of Lang_tool, we would have a very nice tool!!!!

Something like this should be core and not as a module. Mekdrop and I added the ability to take a language and translate it by hand within Zarilia, but I am sure using Google translate would be easy enough to add to the script

Plus, this module is so outdated in many respects, that it will need a really good clean up before I would use it.

Totally agree. But as long as we don't have something better, and this tool does its job, I guess, we could use it locally. However, we would love to see somebody cleaning it up and make it usable.

But the whole XOOPS translation concept needs an update. The world moved on and there are better ways how to do localization/internationalization.
