Mulfiple 'recent posts' forums in Newbb

I was wondering how we make multiple 'recent post' blocks.

The newbb forum has a number of different styles of blocks. However, if I want to make two blocks using the same 'recent posts' blocks but with slightly different settings, how do I go about making a new block to do that?

If I make a 'new block' it shows up as a 'custom block'. It doesn't have all of the features of the existing block even if I put in the template into the entry as an HTML entry.

What concept am I missing.
