I decided to try Xoops. I am using version XOOPS 2.0.18
I loved it or so I thought. I have spent 9 hours trying to force CBB into Xoops. Finally I get "Fatal error: Call to a member function prefix() on a non-object in ../modules/newbb/class/read.php on line 51"
Apparently this is a PHP5 issue

I tried to do SMF, apparently the bridge is not updated!
Can't find a bridge for PHPBB

I have spent enough time trying to get a stupid forum to work on it. So two questions.

1. Is there a forum that will work in XOOPS 2.0.18 that works with php5

2. Since I have no content I am willing to drop down a version or two for Xoops, any suggestions?

I use CBB 3.08 (with Frameworks and xoopseditors which are essential for CBB) on XOOPS 2.0.18 and PHP 5.2.5 without a problem. If installed properly it works first time. Make sure you have the following directory structure after the uploads:

xoops_root/class/xoopseditor
xoops_root/Frameworks
xoops_root/modules/newbb

I'm still using Frameworks 1.10 and xoopseditor 1.10 because they are what I downloaded when CBB 3.08 was released. You should use the latest versions.

There are other Forum modules that work with php5 - take a look at newbbex fromhttp://xoops.instant-zero.com/

Thanks, I may have jumped the gun but I am not admitting to nothing.
I got it installed on another server thats exactly the same! I then had to import the database on to the server that didn't work and all is fine. Figure that one out!

I wish when a CMS updated they didn't blow half the modules, components, etc, out of the water. Seems XOOPS is a touch better on this matter than most!
